Red Cross offers travel tips for Labor Day travelers
If you are hitting the road this Labor Day weekend, get ready to join a little more than 34 million other drivers. That's how many AAA expects to take trips at least 50 miles away from home this holiday weekend.
Many people view the Labor Day weekend as the end of summer and their last chance at a summer vacation, but the Red Cross wants you to remember to be safe when embarking on your travel.
The Red Cross says while traveling, you should remember to carry an emergency supply kit in your trunk. Let someone know your destination, your route and when you should arrive. Make sure to buckle up and obey speed limits. Also, don't drink and drive.
