Maine voters have voted to legalize same-sex marriage, the first time gay marriage has been approved at the ballot box, according to the AP and WMTW.
Same-sex marriage was also on the ballot in Maryland, Washington state and Minnesota on Tuesday. Maryland and Washington voters were voting on whether to allow same-sex marriage, while Minnesota voted on a constitutional amendment that would define marriage as a union between one man and one woman.
