A former Washington County, Tennessee bus driver made an appearance in court Wednesday, where her plea deadline was extended.
Brenda Gray faces 39 counts of reckless aggravated assault after the September 2012 bus crash involving David Crockett High School students.
Her court date to enter a plea has been delayed several times. On Wednesday it was delayed again after her attorney stood before the judge and asked for more time to look at the evidence, since he's new to the case.
Gray's first attorney died and Cliff Corker agreed to represent Gray pro bono, since he said she has no money to pay him.
"We advised the court that what we wanted to do was take a look at the evidence that they have against Ms. Gray before we made any judgments about whether we should enter a plea or have the matter set for trial," says Cliff Corker, Gray's attorney.
Gray's new plea deadline is set for December 3.
