BRISTOL, Va. -

Virginia Intermont College officials announced Tuesday that the school will not be merging with Webber International University as previously reported.

Officials with the college say they do not have a viable model for a merger, originally planned for July 2014. Click here to read more.

In 2013, Virginia Intermont lost its accreditation, but then had it restored while the school worked out a plan to keep operating. Click here to read more.

VI officials say the school will complete the spring semester, keep scholarship support in place, and have graduation on schedule. The college's president says hey will continue working on improving the financial stability of the school.
