The speakers on top of the old Washington County, Tennessee courthouse are ringing the sounds of success.
For years officials in Washington county have been trying to get rid of the pigeons that have made their home the top of the courthouse in Jonesborough.
But 2 weeks ago the county installed a speaker system that emits a predator sound that scares the pigeons away and county officials say it seems to be working.
"The system has been performing phenomenally in the sense that we currently have gone from about 200 pigeons to less than 50," said Christopher Pape, who works for the county zoning office.
Pape tells News 5 county officials will discuss if they would like to expand at their meeting next week.
We learned the system cost the county $300.
