A Piney Flats man is sentenced to serve 14 months in prison for a counterfeit postage scheme.
34 year old Jason Matthew Smalling was arrested for creating counterfeit postage mailing labels back in October. Smalling operated a buisness from his home called Value Decals.
Using computer software, he reproduced postage obtained through stamps.com, which allowed him to mail packages without paying for postage.
Upon his release from prison, Smalling is ordered to ordered to pay $330-thousand in restitution to the U.S. Postal Service and pay a $5-thousand fine.
