One hurt after plane lands on its top
The Federal Aviation Administration will begin investigating Friday after a plane landing went terribly wrong in Washington County, Tennessee.
It happened Thursday afternoon around 4:30. A fixed-wing experimental plane landed in the 500 block of Oakland Road near Limestone.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office says the plane had been flying for about 30 minutes, when the owner tried to land it on a private strip. When the plane tried to land, it bounced, hit hard on the front wheels, then flipped onto its top with the owner and one other person inside it.
Officers say the owner was taken to the hospital in serious condition. The other person was not hurt.
