2007: A suicide attack on a motorcade carrying former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto (pictured here in 2004) kills 139 and wounds 450 more. Bhutto herself was not injured, but she would be killed in another attack two months later on Dec. 27, 2007, two weeks before the scheduled 2008 general election in which she was a leading opposition candidate.
