2014: Tommy Ramone, the founding drummer and last surviving original member of the punk rock band the Ramones, dies at age 65 at his home in the Ridgewood area of Queens, New York. He had been in hospice care following treatment for bile duct cancer. Born Erdelyi Tamas in Budapest, Hungary, he played with the band for the first four years of its existence, appearing on the first three Ramones' records. He wrote "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend" and the majority of "Blitzkrieg Bop" for the Ramones and also co-produced several of the band's albums.
