2015: Two gunmen storm the offices of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris, killing 12 people and injuring another 11. Five more people died in related attacks in France in the following days, with Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula claiming responsibility for the terrorist attacks. After a massive manhunt, the two suspects in the attacks, brothers Saïd and Chérif Kouachi, were shot and killed by police on Jan. 9 following a hostage situation.
