2015: Actor and director Leonard Nimoy, best known for playing Mr. Spock on the original "Star Trek" TV series and in seven movies, dies from complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at age 83 in Los Angeles, California. Nimoy, a U.S. Army veteran, also appeared in the TV shows "Mission: Impossible" and "Fringe" and wrote the autobiographies "I Am Not Spock" and "I Am Spock."
