New vice rector, planning on UVa board's agenda
Strategic planning and the selection of a new vice rector are on the agenda for University of Virginia Board of Visitors.
The board will meet Monday and Tuesday in the Rotunda on the university's campus in Charlottesville.
Board members will choose a replacement for Vice Rector George K. Martin. Martin will become rector in June when Helen Dragas' two-year term ends.
The Daily Progress (http://bit.ly/Z5OfKW ) reports that UVa President Teresa Sullivan is expected to provide her priorities to the board on Tuesday.
Several proposed policy changes also will be considered. One would require a full board vote to either fire a president or accept a president's resignation.
