RICHMOND, Va. -

There is now a new tool in Virginia to help some felons get their civil rights restored.

The Advancement Project has released the Virginia Rights Restoration Guide to help felons understand the steps that need to be taken in order to have their voting rights restored.

Earlier this summer, the Commonwealth outlined steps non-violent felons will have to take to get back their basic civil rights.

Governor Bob McDonnell has said up to 100,000 felons could be added to the voter rolls.
