New CEO for MSHA announced
Mountain States Health Alliance introduced a new CEO Monday morning.
Current CEO Dennis Vonderfecht is retiring at the end of the year.
Alan Levine, named as his successor, comes to Mountain States from Florida, where he is currently the president of a for-profit healthcare company.
But his resume includes time as the Secretary of Health for the State of Louisiana and as a a senior healthcare advisor to Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
Those are experiences he says will help him guide MSHA through the change that's coming in the heathcare industry. "I think the combination of having some operation along with the pubic policy experience will help, and the issues are the same," he told us.
Levine was hired after an extensive nationwide search that began three years ago. He will become the president and CEO of Mountain States on January 1, 2014.
