JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -

Police say a man is in jail in Johnson City after he robbed a man.

Richard Howell asked the victim if he could borrow some money. Police tell News 5 the victim said when he pulled his wallet out, Howell hit him twice once in the back of the head and once in the jaw.

The victim said Howell grabbed his money and ran away. Officers tell News 5 they eventually found Howell in an apartment on West Holston Avenue, hiding behind a washing machine in the bathroom.

Howell is being charged with one count of robbery on a $25,000 bond.
