The man accused in a deadly hit-and-run was in court Thursday in Kingsport for his arraignment.
James Hamm, Jr. is charged with vehicular homicide. Kingsport Police say Hamm was driving under the influence when he hit and killed 61-year-old Michael Locke along Fort Henry Drive Monday night.
He has a hearing for a separate DUI charge from a different wreck in August.
Funeral services are now set for the alleged victim in the case. 61-year-old Locke was a well known Kingsport business man and former state representative.
Police say Locke was helping put up a campaign sign when he was hit by Hamm.
The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until 3 p.m. at Higher Ground Baptist Church in Kingsport, with the funeral to follow.
Entombment will then be in the Oak Hill Memorial Park mausoleum.
Instead of flowers, the family is asking that guests make donations to a charity of one's choice.
