Local Theatres Use Hit Movie To Help Local Food Bank

One movie is taking the nation by storm. ?The Hunger Games? is the hit at the box office, and local theatres are using the movie to help an area food bank.

Food drives are being held at local theatres during the premiere of The Hunger Games movie. Movie go-ers are asked to bring a canned food item to the theatre, which will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee. And one local theater is offering an extra incentive.

?If they bring in at least 5 cans of food to us, we're going to be giving out one dollar gift certificates that are good for movie admissions or concessions to all the people that bring us cans of food," says Brandon Carroll with the Tri Cities 7 Cinema in Blountville, Tennessee.

We?ve learned; donations will be accepted while the movie is in theatres. Theatres in Johnson City and Kingsport are also participating in the food drive.
