Boone Lake levels affecting fish and wildlife

About a month ago, the Tennessee Valley Authority announced Boone Lake will remain 30 feet below normal until at least next year. They found a sinkhole in October near the dam and then discovered sediment and water was also leaking from a riverbank close by.

Record-low water levels at Boone Lake are keeping people from putting lake homes on the market. TVA dropped the lake 30 feet below normal and they’ve told us it will stay that way for a year, or longer, as they work to fix foundation problems near the dam.
