Local tech school changing name
A local educational center will soon change its name; The Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton will become the Tennessee College of Applied Technology as of July 1.
The name of all 27 centers across the state was changed by the Tennessee General Assembly during its last legislative session, and adopted by the Tennessee Board of Regents on Friday.
Officials say the name change more closely reflects the type of job training skills offered by each school.
News 5 also learned the TBR left the registration fees unchanged at $1,049 per trimester to enroll in most full-time training programs. Nursing and welding programs are $1,149 per trimester.
