Korean War Memorial dedicated in Winchester
Sixty soldiers from the Winchester area who were killed during the Korean War are being honored with a new memorial.
The 10-foot granite monument is located in Jim Barnett Park in Winchester.
The Winchester Star reports that the Shenandoah Valley Chapter 313 of the Korean War Veterans Association unveiled the monument Saturday during a dedication ceremony.
Winchester Mayor Elizabeth Minor says the soldiers' sacrifices are a reminder of the cost of freedom.
