Construction of Kingsport's premier shopping complex Heritage Point is continuing to move forward.
The shopping complex will be built on a plot of land where Interstates 26 and 81 meet.
City manager John Campbell tells News 5 that all grading work should be complete by October; that's when builders could step in and begin construction of the stores. "We haven't heard anything directly from the owner of the land, but we've heard through some sources [they'll be done soon]," Campbell said.
The city manager also says it could take several years to fully develop the complex.
So far, the developer has invested $6 million to get the property ready for builders.
