Some Kingsport City Schools are testing out a pilot program to improve communication in schools.
The program, called Quick Tip, is a portal that will allow students to directly contact school administrators.
The technology is a new service presented by the program that currently sends out messages from the school system to the parents and students.
The pilot run is being conducted at Sevier Middle and Robinson Middle Schools. "The object is to give students a voice where they previously might not have felt comfortable. If they notice an incident of bullying, cheating, vandalism, then they have an avenue to speak directly with administrators in an anonymous way,” Chief Information Officer Andy True said.
Students in the two schools can obtain the number from flyers around the schools.
Administrators plan to evaluate the system over the summer to see if a broader roll-out is necessary.
