There are 4th of July events all around the area this weekend.

Blountville, Tennessee

The Blountville Ruritan Independence Day parade is at 2 p.m., Fri., Jul 4, in downtown Blountville. Parade entrants should line up at Keystone Drive between 1 to 1:15 p.m. No fee for entries.

Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia

Bristol's Independence Day parade on State Street will begin at 5 p.m. Friday. There are events at Cumberland Square Park starting at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m. Border Bash will present Adam Faucett, with the Josh Daniel & Mark Scmick Project following at 8:45 p.m. Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m.

There will be fireworks following the Bristol Pirates game on July 5 at 7:00 p.m.

Elizabethton, Tennessee

Elizabethton's Independence Day starts at 1 p.m. at the Covered Bridge park. Fireworks will take place at 9:45 p.m. after the Elizabethton Twins baseball game.

Erwin, Tennessee

Unicoi County is calling all her veterans back home for a Fourth of July Parade. They want to welcome home all Unicoi County Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan and salute all veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and Desert Storm in a special Fourth of July Parade. The parade begins at 11 a.m.

Greeneville, Tennessee

The American Downtown Fourth of July Celebration in downtown Greeneville will feature a parade, a kids fun zone, nearly 20 musical and dance acts, and food vendors.

Johnson City, Tennessee

News 5 crews will be reporting live from the Johnson City 4th of July celebration at Freedom Hall.

Jonesborough, Tennessee

Historic Jonesborough, Tennessee’s Oldest Town, will celebrate the 44th annual Jonesborough Days Festival on July 3rd through 5th with family activities, regional music, parade, fireworks and storytelling. Click here for more information.

Kingsport, Tennessee

The Mack Riddle American Legion 61st annual Independence Day parade starts 10 a.m. at Broad Street in Downtown Kingsport. Live music on Friday starts at 6:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:45 p.m.

A 125-lap, $2,000-to-win Late Model Stock Car races will be held Friday at Kingsport Speedway. Admission is $15 for adults, with children 12-and-under admitted free. Grandstand gates open at 5:30 pm, the autograph session is scheduled for 7:30 pm, and with racing set for just after 8 pm. Fireworks will follow the final race!

The Kingsport Aquatic Center is open Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday the Outdoor Water Park is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Piney Flats, Tennessee

Independence Day Celebration at Historic Rocky Mount - At 1:00 PM on Friday, 4th of July, there will be a ceremonial reading of the Declaration of Independence. Following, the militia will shoot a volley using 18th century style flintlock muskets and rifles. Throughout the day visitors will be asked to tie a ribbon on the "Liberty Tree" There is no admission charge for the ceremony.Living History Tours will be given from 11:00-5:00 with the last tour starting at 4:00. Regular Admission prices apply: $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors, and $5.00 for children aged 5 and over. All Rocky Mount Historical Association discounts apply.

Rogersville, Tennessee

Rogersville will host its July 4th celebration starting Friday at 4 p.m. with a parade. On saturday the main festival kicks off at noon at Rogersville City Park. There are plenty of musical acts lined up with a fireworks show following the concert. Click here for more information.
