(Released for publication) "On 08/11/2014, Officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Marshall K. Holland, 25, and charged him with domestic aggravated assault, domestic simple assault, felony vandalism, evading arrest, and interference with emergency calls.
At approximately 10:20 p.m., officers responded to the victim’s residence. Upon arrival, she advised her boyfriend, Holland had choked her to the point that she could not breathe and then assaulted her son when he intervened. During the argument Holland took all the phones in the residence so that the victims could not call the police. During such time, the victim fled to a separate room with a phone unknown to Holland to call police. In an attempt to stop the victim from calling the police Holland busted down a bedroom door and kicked a hole in the bathroom door where the victim was located. Holland then fled the scene before police arrival.
Approximately 20 minutes later officers located Holland several blocks away. When they attempted to take him into custody he fled on foot. Holland was apprehended a short distance later without incident. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of a $16,000 dollar bond. Arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on 08/12/2014 in Washington County General Sessions Court."
