It was a big night for those with special needs in Johnson City as a local church rolled out the red carpet for them.
The Grace Fellowship Church hosted its Joy Prom for more than 900 guests.
Party-goers had the chance to play carnival games, take pictures at photo booths and, of course, dance the night away.
Event organizers told us they wanted the night to be special from the moment their guests walked through the door.
"They come in on the red carpet, then we have a paparazzi complete with cameras and cheers, and we announce each person's name when they come in," said Pastor Rob Sweet." They come in our lobby and then they can go to what we call a pampering station. For the ladies, we have flowers and an opportunity to decorate their nails and pamper them a little bit. For the men, we have boutonnieres and we have shoe shines."
All of that work required a big group of volunteers so about 300 people were on hand to help out with the event.
