Students at a Johnson City elementary school had a chance to take their learning into their own hands.
Lake Ridge School's gym was filled with interactive displays for the national STEM program. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math.
Students were able to see a 3D printer first hand, and even operate a small robot.
PTA President DeAnne McKenzie said, "It makes it real for them, and hopefully when they're at home and they see some of these things at their house or they play with toys that maybe they've seen here, it takes the lesson home and helps them apply it to everyday life."
Each class had 40 minutes to go through the gym and visit booths directed by STEM professionals.
