SULLIVAN COUNTY , Tenn. -

The Sullivan County jail will soon be equipped with carbon monoxide detectors.

The sheriff's office says work has begun on the project.

They decided to install them after an incident in the Washington County, Tennessee jail where some inmates reported getting sick in June by a leak from a faulty water heater.

The detectors will be put in any area that has gas, like the kitchen areas, boiler room, and laundry room.  The project should take a few weeks.

The Washington County, Tennessee jail also added detectors.
