Home, vehicle damaged in Johnson City fire

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -

Flames destroyed a carport and damaged a home in Johnson City Sunday.

It happened at a home on Miller Street. The call came in shortly before 9 p.m. Firefighters say when they arrived the fire had broken through the roof.

A 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee was also destroyed in the fire.

The rest of the house suffered heat, smoke and water damage.

The family was at home when the fire started, but everyone made it out without injury.

The cause is under investigation.
