Warriors' Path State Park in Kingsport wrapped up its 35th annual Spring Nature Festival with a hike on Sunday.
The weekend's event featured seminars on things like spring trees, wildflowers, and geology.
Professionals and naturalists from around the region gave indoor lectures. The festival featured guided tours on the content being taught.
Today's hike followed a Sunday church service. Park Ranger Marty Silver led the hike. He says it was a chance to get out and enjoy God's creation.
"We'll be hiking a trail known as the Devil's Backbone Trail, which has a beautiful overlook [with] lots of early spring wildflowers, lots of animal tracking; so a great place to discover a wide diversity of nature," Silver said, before he led a group of several dozen people.
He says this weekend was a big hit. Sessions averaged around 20-40 people of all ages. We even saw some strollers out on Sunday's hike.
