Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has signed a new bill into law that bans the shredding of Imagination Library books that are delivered to the wrong address.
Instead of shredding the books, the U.S. Postal Service is now directed to donate the books to pre-kindergarten classes or other programs.
The program gives a book a month to children from birth to age five at no cost to families, regardless of their income.
It was co-founded by Governor Halsam and country singer Dolly Parton.
