Update: Victim identified in deadly Greene County crash
Update: October 23, 2013 at 10:50 p.m.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol identified a passenger killed in a pickup truck accident as Alex Rowell, 36, of Knoxville.
He was in a truck that hit a tree and caught fire on Tuesday morning in Greene County on Graystone Road.
Troopers say speed was a factor in the accident, and charges are pending against the driver.
UPDATE October 22, 2013 at 11:40 a.m.:
One person died and four others were injured in an early morning crash Greene County, Tennessee.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol it happened just before 3:00 a.m. Tuesday morning on Graystone Road.
They say only one truck was involved and five people were in that truck.
According to EMS Director Robert Sayne, two were flown to Johnson City and two were transported to nearby hospitals.
Authorities did not release the name of the man killed. They did tell us he was 36 years old.
Sayne tells us the truck hit a tree and caught fire.
Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a one-vehicle crash.
Troopers say it happened shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday morning on Graystone Road in Greene County.
News 5 has learned there is one confirmed death, but troopers do not know how many may be hurt.
Troopers and sheriff's deputies on the scene tell us that road may be blocked for a while Tuesday morning.
The investigation into what happened is continuing and we will bring you more facts as they become available.
