It’s the time of year many people are busy filing tax returns and some local college students are helping people get them done.
Business students at East Tennessee State University are filing taxes for free to anyone making less than $52,000 in 2013.
We’re told the students are certified through the IRS volunteer income tax assistance program.
ETSU student Heath McConnell says helping people prepare taxes is getting him ready for his career, “We are also giving members of ETSU’s accounting program experience in preparing tax returns, which will help them when they get out into the work force."
If you’d like to get help on your taxes, students are available March 1, March 15 and April 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the third floor computer lab in Sam Wilson Hall. That’s on ETSU’s campus at 200 Ross Drive.
