GRAY, Tenn. -

Its the time of year that you just have to get out and dig some dirt, so why not do it in the name of science?

The East Tennessee State University Gray fossil site is looking for volunteers to come out and do some digging.

Volunteers have been invited to help in the lab and with operations and now they'll have a chance to get their hands dirty. Volunteer coordinator Shawn Haugrud tells us, "one of the things we're doing this year is having a large volunteer force out in the field. Now to do that we have you fill out some paperwork, so you'll go through a little orientation and then you'll train a little bit in the lab. Then, you'll get out in the field. It's a great opportunity to do something new that you don't get to do at a lot of sites."

If you are interested in volunteering, you're asked to meet at the Gray fossil site museum and visitors center at 11 o' clock on Saturday morning.
