WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. -

     In Washington County, Virginia a former board of supervisors candidate is facing felony charges.

     Sheriff Fred Newman tells News 5 Timothy Mowery ran for a spot on the Washington County Board of Supervisors in November.
     When he filled out his military service record form known as a DD214, Sheriff Newman says he lied about his military rank and awards.
     Mowery is also accused of using the document to obtain a concealed weapon permit.
     He is charged with perjury, uttering, and forgery of a public document.
