GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -

There are new facts available in the case of a former Greeneville auxiliary police officer who was suspected of having child pornography on a computer in his patrol car.

We just checked federal court documents showing Herbert Eugene Miller pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography.

A judge sentenced him to over three years in prison.

According to the federal complaint filed on August 15, 2013 in federal court, a forensic investigation of the computer hard drive discovered thousands of explicit images and more than 80 instances of child pornography.

Further investigation was able to trace those searches back to the early morning hours of July 28, 2013, when Miller was on duty.

According to Greeneville records, Miller was hired June 1, 2000 and was employed on an as-needed basis through August 2013.
