NASCAR is still a few weeks away from dropping the green flag on the 2014 season, but Bristol Motor Speedway and Food City are making headlines.
The grocery store chain announced an extension to the second-longest running sponsorship in NASCAR history. Food City will continue to be the title sponsor of the spring Sprint Cup race for the next five years, carrying the partnership past the 25-year mark.
Bristol Motor Speedway general manager Jerry Caldwell tells us the partnership is a good fit. "We embody the same values. I think that's what makes a relationship last, and most important is that the same things are important. We want to take care of our customers, we want to exceed expectations, we want to reward loyalty. It continues to work for Food City," he said.
Food City and the speedway also announced some incentives for season ticket holders. Food City is giving members of the track's "I Belong Club" free Fuel Bucks, and will give one additional ticket to season ticket holders for the spring race.
