Some Johnson City homeowners have been battling an on-going problem for a few years -- flocks of birds have been trying to roost in their trees and bushes.
We spoke with several people in the South Mountain View Circle who told us every evening around 5:15, flocks of starling birds come into their neighborhood.
Some are having to shoot 'cannons', like the one pictures above, which put off a loud sound to help keep some of the birds away; others are hitting pots together to try and keep them away. "We've responded to some complaints over the course of last couple of years. We've had our sound meters out, and we haven't issued any citations," says Johnson City Police Chief Mark Sorios.
Sorios says the Johnson City Police Department is planning a meeting to discuss what can be done about the birds. It's planned for this Friday at 6 p.m. at the Memorial Park Community Center in Johnson City.
