MADISON COUNTY, N.C. -

Firefighters remain on the scene of a fire at a western North Carolina ski resort.

The fire happened at the Ridge Lodge at Wolf Ridge resort in Mars Hill.  

Madison County emergency workers say the flames started around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning; the building collapsed during the fire.

Crews had to battle steep terrain and icy roads to reach the lodge.

So far, no injuries have been reported. Firefighters are still looking for what sparked the flames.
