Family makes special delivery to children's hospital
A Sullivan County baby battling cancer -- we first introduced you to Briggs Goforth a couple of weeks ago.
Tuesday is his first birthday.
To honor him, his parents are helping other kids just like him by making little lunchboxes to deliver to patients in the Niswonger Children's Hospital.
Tiffany Goforth launched "Lunchbox Love" and began collecting donations from the community to buy lunch bags, which she then filled with crayons, coloring books and stuffed animals to give to the kids in the hospital.
She started out with a goal of 20, but word quickly spread about her cause and she was able to buy almost 350.
After our story ran on Briggs a few weeks ago, viewers stepped up and donated an additional 150. Click here to read more.
Tiffany and her family loaded them up into several cars and delivered them to Niswonger Children's Hospital Monday. "We feel like a lot of people have given to us, and this is our opportunity to give back to someone else," says Tiffany Goforth.
The Goforths plan on making this a yearly event on Briggs' birthdays.
