ETSU trains for campus emergency
ETSU police spent the day training officers how to stop a shooter on campus.
The training was held at University School on the campus of ETSU.
Officers practiced dangerous scenarios and situations.
ETSU Chief of Police Jack Cottrell says they have been doing this training since shortly after the Columbine tragedy. "You never know when this is going to happen," he said. "We want our officers to be able to do whatever they can to prevent a tragedy from happening here on this campus."
The officers reacted to different situations, like a possible gunman on campus or hostage situation.
