ETSU Foundation commits $1 million for arts center
The arts at ETSU are the university's top priority right now, and Thursday the college is even closer to building a new arts center.
The ETSU Foundation announced this morning at their annual meeting they will commit $1 million to the proposed Martin Center for the Arts.
The $38 million facility will serve as a way to foster the growth of artistic culture in the region. "There's not a venue on campus that can serve as the home for the arts, so through the arts initiative, and through the creations of the Martin Center for the Arts, we're finally creating that home," said Dr. Brian Noland, ETSU President.
ETSU's goal is to have $9.5 million raised for the facility by June 30, 2014.
Right now, they have just about 4 million dollars raised.
