The American Institute for Economic Research (AIER) pulled data from a host of federal agencies -- the Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Department of Housing and Urban Development and others -- to rank the best U.S. college towns in 2013. The rankings are based on overall academic and cultural environment, quality of life and employment opportunities in the area. Here are the Top 20:
