Duck Dynasty star's appearance cancelled over 'conflict in values'
A Greene County non-profit organization is backing their decision to cancel the appearance of Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson.
Freewill Baptist Family Ministries has canceled the April 12 show at Viking Hall.
The event was part of a fundraiser to finish construction of a new school building at their campus in Camp Creek.
When the ministry found out that Robertson’s family was launching Duck Commander Wines, they felt that would send mixed messages to the young people who are going through their adolescent drug and alcohol program. Derek Bell tells us, "We think they are doing a great job. They are bringing faith and Christianity back into the mainstream. We think that's a wonderful thing. It's just unfortunate the business decision that they had to make and we didn't fell like it fit within our core values."
You can get a full refund at Viking hall Monday through Saturday if you purchased the tickets there. For more information call (423) 764-0188.
If you bought your tickets online, you have to get refunds at E-Tix which we've linked here.
We contacted Duck Commander for a comment about this story, they haven't returned our calls.
