GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -

A U.S. District Judge in Greeneville sentenced a Bristol, Tennessee man for his role in a major drug trafficking operation.

Aaron Kinzer, 32, was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison for conspiring to distribute crack cocaine and marijuana and money laundering.

Kinzer pleaded guilty to the charges in June of 2012 after federal prosecutors say he led a conspiracy to traffic the drugs into the Tri-Cities from Charlotte and Atlanta.

The investigation included police departments from the Tri-Cities, North Carolina and the DEA.

A judge announced today that upon his release from prison, Kinzer will be supervised for eight years by the U.S. Probation Service.

Kinzer's sentencing closes the investigation, which resulted in the conviction of seven individuals.
