SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. -

The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting, and they need the public's help.

Sheriff's deputies say it happened Monday night around 9:30 on Princeton Road.

Officers say the victim told them he was standing in his front yard near his porch when a man shot him in the upper thigh area from about 15 feet away. The victim says that person then ran away.

Officers tell News 5 the victim was treated on the scene, and deputies are now looking for the suspect. "Right now, we're looking for a male wearing dark clothing," said Public Information Officer Leslie Earhart on Monday night. "He was said to have a dark-colored [hooded sweatshirt] on. He was clean-shaven, but he also had dark hair."

Deputies are asking the public to give them a call if anything suspicious was noticed in the Princeton Road area around the time of the shooting.
