CARTER COUNTY, Tenn. -

An eight-month drug investigation in Carter County, Tennessee resulted in charges for two people, and more could be on the way.

Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes says deputies and agents, with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, executed a search warrant at a home on Old Watauga Road in the Watauga community.

During the search, we're told, deputies took several guns-- including an AR-15 assault rifle, cash, and several prescription medications.  Out-of-state labels on the drugs led deputies to believe the suspects were traveling to Illinois to get the prescription pills and then sell them in Carter County.

As a result of the search, Ignacio Chacon, Junior and Kasey Barnett were arrested and charged with several drug offenses.

Sheriff Mathes tells News 5, more people could be charged as the investigation continues.
