19-year-old dies in Sullivan County crash

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. -

The driver of an SUV died Friday night after a crash in Bluff City.

It happened just before 9:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Pleasant Grove Road.

According to Leslie Earhart with the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office the driver, 19-year-old Zachary Moody, died when he was thrown from the SUV he was driving.

Moody was flown to the Johnson City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

According to the release, Moody lived on the street where the SUV crashed.

Earhart says speed was a factor in the crash and Moody was not wearing a seat belt.
