There are several free events planned for this weekend around the area.

Bristol, Tennessee

You may want to take in a concert Friday night in Bristol, Tennessee. The Swon Brothers will play a free concert at Steele Creek Park at 7p.m.

The group, who first gained fame on the television show The Voice, performed a concert at the Appalachian Fair last summer.

The City of Bristol will offer free shuttle service from the Kmart parking lot on West State Street every 30 minutes starting at 5 p.m.

Downtown Bristol

The second concert for Border Bash is Friday night, and there is a lot to do in Downtown Bristol.

The free event begins with kids' actvities at 6 p.m. The live music begins at 7 p.m. with Andrew Combs, followed by Paleface at 8:30.

Damascus, Virginia

Put those hiking boots -- it's time to head to Appalachian Trail Days. This is the 28th year for the event in Damascus, Virginia.

The weekend event kicks off Saturday morning. Vendors will be set up to sell everything from food to footwear, and employees at local businesses tell us this weekend is a financial boost to the area.

Greeneville, Tennessee

Greeneville's Parks and Recreation is a proud sponsor of the Dogwood Park Concert Series. The concert series features local talent, but also has some big names as well.

This Sunday's free event features the Dugger Band, Madison Metcalf, Living Testament, and Fire Cry.

The Dogwood Park Concert Series event is Sunday, May 18 at Dogwood Park in Greeneville. Gates open at 4 p.m.
