Congressman Roe visits expanding business
A local company is grabbing the attention of Congressman Phil Roe.
The Republican lawmaker stopped by Chef Minute Meals in Johnson City Friday morning.
The company, which makes pre-packaged meals often used for disaster relief, is expanding. We're told the company is more than doubling their space in Piney Flats, which will add about 70 employees.
Congressman Roe (R-Tenn.) said many small businesses don't get the help they need from the government; that's why he wants to find ways he can improve things in Washington. "Maybe it's regulations [or] over-regulation from the federal government or even local and state governments that hinder their businesses. The reason I visit is to make sure each one of them has a unique story. You find out things unique to their business," said Congressman Roe.
Company officials said they are also planning to move their out-of-state cooking plant to our region.
