An 11-month-old Bristol, Tennessee boy is battling cancer. Ever since his parents found out, they decided not just to make a difference in their son's life, but also the lives of other sick children.
"It is heartbreaking," says Tiffany Goforth, the mother of Briggs Goforth. When Briggs was eight months old, she discovered a small lump on her only child.
Everything had been perfectly normal up until then, but Tiffany and her husband took their child to the doctor and learned he had cancer.
While fighting and praying for their baby, the Goforths decided they wanted to make a difference in other sick children's lives too.
In honor of Briggs, they started something called "Lunchbox Love." The lunchboxes will be filled with crayons, coloring books and other goodies and given to kids at Niswonger Children's Hospital, who are undergoing treatments and tests just like Briggs.
"It is something that you never think that you'll go through. We worry about colds and broken arms, but you never worry about cancer," says Goforth.
The Goforths recently got tests back that show Briggs probably still has cancer, and will likely have to undergo chemotherapy.
The family is still collecting donations to give to the children in the hospital. If you want to donate, you can contact Tiffany at LunchboxLovebyTiffany@gmail.com.
